KOHELET COMMITTEE SIGN-UP |
|
|
Members,
It is early in our new committee sign-up period. Nevertheless, to comfortably plan ahead the Board and I beseech you to go to the Kohelet sign-up site and put your mark demonstrating your understanding of our need for your commitment.
Filling in the slots is critical and the only way for this community to carry on with broad support rather than relying on the few. This is who we are, this is how we do it that distinguishes our congregation. We count on you to be on board with this need.
Please click below to sign up.
Thank you,
Neiel

WHAT I LEARNED FROM the BAR/BAT MITZVAH PROCESS: A panel of kids and parents
Coordinator: Aviva Siegel
The next and vibrant KoheletTalk will be on Thursday, March 10, 2016. Please come to show your support as three of our recent Bar/Bat Mitzvahs will share their perspectives as new Jewish adults in our community. The panel of kids and parents will address what each pair has learned through the process of planning and executing their simcha.
Prospective Bar/Bat Mitzvah families, within and outside Kohelet, can gain insights and ask questions. Teacher-trainers can add in about the process of helping those interested begin their journey in Jewish adulthood. New ideas and everyone’s input about the challenges and benefits of this milestone process of Judaism will be welcomed. Please join us and invite friends and colleagues who might be considering a Bar/Bat Mitzvah in the future, who have had one in the past, or are simply interested in this traditional yet still unique experience that is an important part of Judaism and of Kohelet.
A casual supper will be available at 6:00 pm, and the program will start promptly at 6:45 pm. Please RSVP to: joanyaffa@gmail.com

We all want to welcome Ruthy and Warren Wexler, our newest Kohelet members. Please share with them all your warmest thoughts about Kohelet, a possible Shabbat dinner invite, a greeting at services or other Kohelet events, and any help you can offer integrating into Kohelet. Here is a little background offered by the Wexlers.
Ruthy hails from Brooklyn, NY and Philadelphia, PA where she raised two daughters and worked as an art therapist. She is a portrait artist, journalist, and grandmother of three. Her email address is: caroldenker@comcast.net; tel.: 267-210–3101. Warren came to Denver from St. Louis as a young man and mostly never left, except to travel to Philadelphias in 2007 to see Ruthy whom he met on JDate. He is a retired electrical engineer and the father of three daughters and grandfather of two grandchildren.

A TOUR OF PROVERBS/MISHLEI WITH NEIEL
Proverbs 4
The path of the righteous is like radiant sunlight.
More than all you guard, guard your mind,
For it is the source of life.
Let your eyes look forward, and your gaze be straight ahead.
Survey the course you take, and all your ways will prosper.
