SHABBAT SERVICE AUGUST 20
Parsha Vaetchanan

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear Kohelet members,
This issue of our Newsletter begins the sign-up period for the High Holy Days. Fundraising is traditionally a part of the season and this year as in the past Kohelet will rely upon your generosity. I entreat you to give serious consideration to doing all that you are comfortable with to assist in this campaign. Our present dues structure requires significant additional financial input from the membership to comfortably meet all our obligations.
We want to be prepared for new expected expenses but also to rebuild a more fortified reserve in case of unforeseen conditions. We are already noting probable needed repair work to the Kohelet roof, ongoing building structural maintenance and increased rent payments for our playground.
Please give your close attention to this request and help to continue our strength as we pave our path onward.
Kohelet is important to all of us and its sustenance is the responsibility of us all.
Neiel

PACING YOUR PAYMENTS

We have two WONDERFUL Kohelet Fall events coming up: High Holy Days (October 2-12), followed by our fabulous Fall Retreat onNovember 4-6.
You might consider
pacing your payments by paying for the High Holy Days early this year, so you can start putting your pennies away for the not-to-be-missed Fall Retreat at the YMCA of the Rockies!
High Holy Days payments can be made by clicking below.

YOU!!

YES, YOU!!!

It is time for our final sign up for this year.
Please choose three Shabbats between September 1 and January 31 and sign up for set up and clean up. The congregation really appreciates your participation.

(You don't need an access code but you will need your email & self-created password. Contact admin@kohelet.org if you run into trouble.)

A TOUR OF PROVERBS/MISHLEI WITH NEIEL

Proverbs 29

One often reproved will become stiff-necked,
And suddenly broken beyond repair.
When the righteous are great, people rejoice,
But when the wicked dominate, the people groan.
By justice, a king sustains the land;
But a fraudulent man tears it down.
An evil man’s offenses are a trap for himself,
But the righteous sing out joyously.
Scoffers inflame the city,
But the wise allay anger.
A dullard vents all his rage,
But a wise many calms it down.
A king who judges the wretched honestly,
His throne will be established forever.
If you see a man hasty in speech,
There is more hope for a fool than for him.
A man’s pride will humiliate him,
But a humble man will obtain honor.

The Board is hoping to put Mr or Ms “someone else” out of business? Watch the video and see the possibilities where you might participate.

BILLBOARD

We are looking to borrow toys and gear appropriate for an almost 1 year old. We’d like to have anything you can lend us and would return things right after Labor Day. Those thing-a-migigs you push when you’re learning to walk, things she can hold and bang together (other than pots and spoons), board books, loading and dumping. Thanks for thinking about this, joan: joanyaffa@gmail.com.

WHO SIGNED UP FOR SETUP/CLEANUP THIS WEEK?

THANK YOU!!
